Headed toward achievement

You’re already spending time, you’re already taking action. To improve your outcomes, put more clarity and focus into that time and activity.

To get from point A to point B, the best way is to proceed directly and consistently toward point B. Radically changing direction every few minutes will make it much more difficult.

Though you cannot always go in a perfectly straight line toward your goal, what you can do is avoid going away from it. To do that, be clear and specific about the goal, and continually aware of your progress.

That way, the energy you’re expending and the time you’re using are taking you in the direction you’ve chosen. You’re able to keep yourself headed toward achievement.

If you’re too vague about your destination, it’s impossible to get there. If you become too distracted along the way, that also makes the journey more difficult and less likely to succeed.

Instead, choose clarity about your intention and maintain focus in your attention. It’s the most effective way to harness your time and energy, and get you where you actually want to go.
