Authentic priorities
Where do your priorities come from? Do they come from what others expect of you, or even from what others expect of themselves? If so, those priorities are sure to eventually frustrate and discourage you.
The priorities which will move your life forward cannot be borrowed from, or imposed on you by others. Rather, they come from your own most deeply held values, from your most fundamental purposes, beliefs and convictions.
Do you put most of your efforts into keeping up appearances, and doing what everyone else considers important, or do you put your energy into fulfilling your own special possibilities? Working toward someone else’s dream brings out only a fraction of the energy and effectiveness you’ll experience when putting forth the effort in pursuit of your own most treasured goals and desires.
If your priorities seem to frustrate you, there’s a good chance they’re not even your own priorities. Live authentically. Be the person you truly are, and the sincerity of your efforts will bring a wonderful richness to your life.
