Stop and consider

Pause for just a moment and consider how truly fortunate you are. Sure, this world has its problems and frustrations, yet even in the deepest despair there are positive possibilities.

The things which upset and annoy you do so only because they are magnified out of proportion as a result of their rarity. The reason you even notice the negative things is because you are so enveloped within a world full of positive possibilities.

You do not have to look far to begin counting your blessings. You do not have to look at all. Your own existence, your capacity for thought and reason, your ability to take action, your skill at adapting to a variety of situations are all very positive and powerful assets which continually work in your favor. What misfortune, what heartache, what amount of despair could possibly cancel them out?

Life is difficult, and strangely, that in itself makes it all the more wonderful. The problems certainly demand your time and attention, yet they are minuscule all the great things you’re able to be and do.
