There is only one way to avoid criticism: Do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.

A worthy challenge

Challenge will energize you, give you direction, and draw out the best in you. Challenge will compel you to learn new skills and gain new knowledge. It will motivate you to get the best possible performance from yourself.

Have you ever noticed that, on days when you have a lot of work you must do, you end up getting a lot more done? And on days when you don’t have much that needs doing, you don’t get much done. Just as your effort increases to meet the job that must be done, so too do you grow in proportion to the challenges that come your way.

The challenges are not there to pull you down. Your challenges exist to move you forward, to bring out the best in you, to push you toward accomplishment. Challenges are difficult and uncomfortable. That’s precisely what gives them their essence and value. True greatness comes from regularly and successfully dealing with a wide range of challenges. Do yourself a big favor. Find something to truly challenge you and it will energize your life.
