The gift

I have a gift for you but I must confess that even though you are the recipient it is I who experience a blessed reward. The gift is wrapped up in a pretty package and it was carefully chosen, yet the essence of the gift is not in the box. It is in my heart.

I give to you something of myself and when the deed is done, I have even more than I had before. You express your thanks and gratitude, yet the joy and pleasure are thoroughly mine.

Indeed, it is I who am sincerely grateful for this glorious opportunity and for every opportunity to give. I have learned that to give is to fully live.

I have a gift for you. It might not be exactly what you expected. Nonetheless, it is a treasure with value that cannot be equaled, for it is given in the true spirit of love. The gift will bring to both you and me things which we never would have otherwise known.

This Christmas day is a day for giving,
to celebrate and to renew.
Each gift is filled with a special magic,
for it blesses both me and you.
