Long time coming

The achievements that are the longest in coming are the ones you’ll treasure the most. For they’re the ones into which you put the most of who you are.

What comes to you in an instant can be nice for a while. Yet it cannot compare, in value or endurance, to what you build over time.

There are no substitutes for effort, commitment and patience. And there are certainly no substitutes for the valuable things they will bring to your life.

At first glance, it may seem shrewd to take from life all you can as soon as you can. Yet the far wiser choice is to give to life, as much and as often as you can. For what you give is what ends up lasting the longest. What you give will build value and fulfillment far into the future.

What a blessing it is that some things are a long time coming. For you have the opportunity to make them truly magnificent.
