Life is difficult
I can think of nothing less pleasurable than a life devoted to pleasure.
-- John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
Here’s a little secret and a paradox. Once you truly accept the fact that life is difficult, it becomes vastly easier. When you stop fighting with life and accept it for what it is -- the ultimate challenge -- that acceptance gives you the perspective you need to overcome any obstacle. When you understand that life is a challenge, then you start to seek challenges, and those challenges build and shape a life of purpose and accomplishment.
We waste so much time trying to make life easy, when we could be spending our energy making life good. Turning obstacles into achievements is the very essence of life.
Joy comes not from comfort, but from living and contributing and achieving.
