Beyond yourself

Don’t strive to impress the people you encounter. Seek to enrich them.

In your words, your actions, your presence, offer genuine value. That leaves others eager to give you value in return.

Listen, and you’ll be heard. Give encouragement, and you’ll be inspired by the goodness that’s produced.

What you keep to yourself will soon become stale and diminished. What you share beyond yourself has the power to expand far in excess of its original scale.

Acting in a self-centered manner will severely restrict your options. Yet if you approach the same situation with a generous spirit, the possibilities are abundant and open ended.

Look for and seize upon opportunities to live beyond yourself. There’s no limit to the good you can do.
