There is no beautifier of complexion, or form, or behavior, like the wish to scatter joy and not pain around us.

Spreading joy

Life is best when it is filled with giving. We are, each of us, unique, with our own contribution to make. At the same time, we are part of a greater whole. Giving is what keeps us connected.

When we celebrate Christmas today we celebrate a gift given in perfect love and grace. By giving of ourselves, we experience in a profound and undeniable way the joy of that gift.

By sincerely giving, we no longer must merely believe that it is more blessed to give than to receive. By giving of ourselves, we know and experience the reality of that beautiful truth.

Give, not to make an impression, not to fulfill an obligation or to repay a debt, but for the sheer joy of doing so. For it is a joy that will spread far beyond you each time you live and experience it.
