Need to do

Are there things you know you need to do that you just don’t want to do? Of course there are. Are there things you’d rather be doing instead? Sure there are. Your best choice is to go ahead and do what must be done, even though it may not be all that pleasant. Putting it off just wastes your time.

It helps to keep in mind that the sooner you get busy on those unpleasant but necessary tasks, the more time you’ll have for doing the things you really enjoy. Knowing that you’re making time for yourself can make those undesirable activities much easier to bear.

The choice is yours. You can sit around complaining, dreading, putting off, making excuses, daydreaming and avoiding what must be done. After all that, it will still need to be done, and you’ll have no time left for anything else. Or, you can just go ahead and cheerfully get it done, knowing that what you’re really doing is making time for yourself. That will help to making the unpleasant things more pleasant, and, even better, it will make the truly enjoyable things more possible.
