In control

Who or what is in control of the way you live your life?

Ultimately, your appetite is not in control. Your habits are not in control. Your assumptions are not in control. Your boss, your family, your teachers, therapist, minister, friends, co-workers, neighbors and the politicians who run your state are not in control of what you do. Your past is not in control. Your situation is not in control. Your excuses are not in control.

You are in control of what you do. And you can make the choice, at any time, in any situation, to do what is helpful to your life and the world and to avoid what is harmful.

If you slept late and the day got off to an unproductive start, you can still take control and make progress. If you made a mistake, you can still recover from that mistake and get good work done. If traffic is snarled you can still find a way to make progress.

You can make the choice, whatever else is going on in your life, whatever pressures you may face, to take control and to make something good out of it all.

Are your finances in a mess? You can take control, and turn things around. Is your boss being a total jerk? You can still exercise control over your actions and make a positive difference. Did the alarm clock fail to wake you up? You can still make progress.
