Live the goodness

I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph. And there’s purpose and worth to each and every life.
                   — Ronald Reagan

Life is difficult, challenging and painful at times. Yet at its very core, life is undeniably good. The world is ripe with injustice and tragedy. Yet goodness always finds a way to be where it is needed most. What is wrong, what is false, can often seem powerful and compelling. Yet eventually each falsehood consumes itself, collapsing under the burden of its own lies and inconsistencies.

There are frustrations, tragedies, disappointments, setbacks, heartbreaks, and absurdities. The simple joy of being outweighs them all. Life is good, because within its realm, anything is possible. Life is good, because no matter how far you fall, there is always a way to climb back up again. You can complain, fret and worry about all the problems in your life, but you’ll be wasting your time. Or, you can choose to focus on why and how life is so good, and on what you can do to take that goodness and make it even better.

And life’s goodness not only endures. It grows stronger and more solidly entrenched as it survives each passing challenge. Often life’s purpose seems to get buried beneath the confusion and the complexities, the distractions and the pressing demands. And yet, through it all, that purpose patiently remains, ready at any moment to be lived and fulfilled.

Do you remember the times when life has seemed almost magical? Do you remember those days when you felt as if you were floating on air? Stop for a moment and fill yourself with those feelings of how very good, how very special life can be.

Though the events may be distant in space and time, the positive feelings they bring can always be with you. Remember often how good life can be. For the more you remember, the more life you give to your best possibilities. If you focus your attention on the worries, anxieties, conflicts and shortcomings, those are the things that will grow. Focus instead on how good life can be, and with every moment you’ll be making it better. Look up, rather than down, and you’ll see an infinitely bigger, more positive horizon. Celebrate life’s real and substantial goodness, and that goodness will come to dominate your reality.

Celebrate and live that goodness today. Of all the days that have ever been and of all the days to come, today is the one you now have. Though it may not be perfect, it is here, it is now, and it is the one day that is available to you. On this day you live in a world filled with beauty. Take the opportunity to see and appreciate some of that beauty.

On this day there are precious moments ready to be filled with joy and meaning. Live today’s moments so as to add real and lasting value to your life and your world. Spend some time focusing your thoughts on what’s right with this day. Allow yourself to genuinely feel the goodness that is present right now. Remind yourself of all that you have to be thankful for on this day. In the heart of your gratitude, you will touch today’s limitless source of abundance. Life’s goodness is here and now, on this day.
