The significant problems we face today cannot be solved on the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.

The MONTHLY Motivator - August 2010

Joy in this moment

The wait is over. This moment is here and it is time to live. Whatever could have been or should have been, doesn’t matter. This moment is here and now for you to live. Choose to live it fully and richly, as if this is the only time there has ever been and the only time that will ever be. This is not a time for regret or blame or putting off until later. This is your time to live, to feel how exquisitely amazing it is to be, and give the best of yourself to right now. This moment you can stop giving energy to your limitations, and give your energy to joy and creation and authentic expression.

This moment sits at the intersection of the best of your past achievements and the best of your future possibilities. What a powerful combination that can be! This moment has already begun, and you can determine how it ends. Look back at what has brought you to this moment and find something for which to be sincerely grateful. Look forward from this moment and find something that will enable you to realize your deepest purpose and fill your world with joy. Then make use of this moment to tie those two things together. Put your richest blessings to work so that they can move you toward your fondest dreams. This is the time to make that connection. This is the time for you to live and to act, to think, to feel, to experience and to move gratefully toward your richest possibilities. The best of what your life has been is alive in this moment, ready to carry you forward. And the best of what’s to come is ready to be fulfilled.

Keep in mind that this is not an ordinary moment. No moment ever is. No matter how mundane the task or the situation may be, it is overflowing with special possibilities and opportunities for joy. No moment is ordinary because life itself is so inherently and overwhelmingly extraordinary. Stand up, open your eyes and pay loving attention to what is here and now. Free this moment from the shackles of your worries, your fears, your disappointment and frustration, and begin to see how truly wonderful it can be. Everything you could ever need or desire has already been delivered to you. It spreads out in all directions as far as the eye can see and as far as the mind can imagine, here and now. And you have the immensely good fortune of living it, of moving through the richness of life that is all here in this moment. Accept it for all it is, appreciate the beauty, the wonder and the limitless possibilities. Your life is not way off in some imagined future someday. The fullness of it is here and now, in this moment that is in no way ordinary, ready to be lived.
