Go on past your fear

What fear do you have that has been holding you back? Today would be a great day to confront it, to meet it head on, to get on past it. Have you been fearful of saying something that needs to be said, or of making a decision, or undertaking a necessary course of action with which you’re not completely comfortable?

Fear is very useful because it actually serves to prepare you to confront that which you fear. Fear gives you the energy you need to meet difficult challenges. It heightens your awareness of, and sensitivity to, your situation.

So whatever you’ve been fearful of, you’ve really been preparing for. In your fear you’ve stored up the necessary energy to confront that fear. Now you must make use of that energy.

Though you may fear it -- indeed, because you fear it -- do that which you know must be done. Your fear has prepared you. It would be a shame to waste all that preparation. Instead, use it to go on past your fear. Do that which you fear, and you’ll benefit from the positive value of that fear.
