Joy happens

Every day is full of good things waiting to be experienced. That is, if you’ll let yourself experience them.

Too often we look at the world through the negative lenses of anger, frustration and cynicism. That perspective tends to block out all the good things. We consider ourselves realistic and pragmatic when we’re able to see all the problems in the world. Yet that is barely half the picture. How realistic can that be?

Open your eyes and see the goodness and beauty that surround you. Yes, there are troubles. Yes, there are problems. There are also many opportunities and positive possibilities.

Every situation, no matter how bleak, has its positive aspects. Challenge yourself to be truly realistic and to see the good, the positive, the uplifting, the opportunity. Those who truly have the most positive vision are not naive pollyannas -- they’re winners.
