One of the virtues of the very young is that you don't let facts get in the way of your imagination.

Pay attention

Pay attention to those who speak with you, and you will tell them more than your words ever could. Pay attention to those you love, and the love will grow. Pay attention to your garden, and it will be full of lush, bright color. Pay attention to your work, and you’ll achieve great things. Pay attention to your community, and it will be a wonderful place to live. Pay attention to the direction of your life, and you will find fulfillment.

One of the greatest things you have to give is your attention. Listen, watch, understand, respond. Just think of all the problems which are the result of people not paying attention -- to their work, to their children, to their spouses, to where their life is headed, to the society in which they live.

Paying attention is not easy. There are so many distractions. Just like anything else worthwhile, paying attention takes effort and intention. And just like anything else worth doing, the rewards far outweigh the sacrifice. Pay attention, and it will pay you back.
