Control yourself

He who conquers others is strong;
He who conquers himself is mighty.
                     -- Lao-tzu

There is no need to control other people when you’re able to control yourself. For some reason though, we all want to control others, and not ourselves. Why is this? Because we want to control, but we don’t want to BE controlled (even by ourselves).

Well, it doesn’t work that way. Someone is going to control you. It will either be your or someone else. If you spend your time and energy trying to control others, and neglect to control yourself, then someone will step in to fill the void. And the very attempt to control others gives them control over you.

What a waste of effort! Simply take control of your own self, of your own life. You are full of infinite possibilities. You are blessed with intelligence and energy. Take control. Your actions, purposely directed, will bring anything you desire.
