Feel the burn
In body building and other athletic training, there’s a saying, “No pain -- no gain.” If you’re going to work out, you’ve got to be prepared to “feel the burn” in your muscles. The challenge of running, cycling, rowing, skiing, swimming, lifting weights or any other exercise, is what builds strong, healthy bodies.
Challenge can help to build a strong, healthy mind and spirit as well. Like strenuous physical exercise, challenges of all kinds are uncomfortable. Challenges demand new thinking. They demand hard work and sacrifice. And every challenge helps you to grow.
Life itself is a challenge. Just the fact that you’ve survived this long means you’re pretty good already at meeting challenges. And the better you become at accepting and confronting challenge, the better your life will be.
