Keep yourself open

By paying attention and noticing patterns you can sometimes accurately extrapolate the future from the past. Just keep in mind that it doesn’t always work.

Much of what happens in the world is fairly predictable. Yet life certainly has a large number of surprises as well.

Assumptions solidly based on experience and wisdom can be highly useful. They can also be decidedly wrong.

Be careful not to reject something or someone out of hand based solely on your assumptions. Be aware, be vigilant, and also be open to having your assumptions challenged.

No matter how much life you’ve experienced, there are treasures you didn’t know were there and threats you’ve never considered. Don’t let all your good knowledge prevent you from gaining even more.

Keep yourself open to exploring what’s available, especially if it challenges your assumptions. There are always plenty of great discoveries waiting to be made.
