Flawed and beautiful
Every person is flawed in various ways. Every person makes choices that later become regrets.
Remind yourself of that before casting harsh judgments on others. Remind yourself of that before making any harsh judgments about yourself.
By all means expect the best, of your own behavior and of the people around you. Yet be prepared to temper those expectations with a generous amount of tolerance and understanding.
People can and do change for the better. And that’s usually the result of encouragement rather than rebuke.
Truthfully call out wrongs when you see them. Do it with an eye toward seeking improvement instead of retribution.
Every flawed person is also beautiful, each in his or her own special way. Recognize the beauty, appeal to the truth, and bring goodness to life despite the inherent challenges.
