I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving.

High road

Sometimes people will disappoint you. But that doesn’t mean you must disappoint them in return.

On the contrary, such situations give you an opportunity to take the high road. You can accept the disappointment, and then pay it back with something much better.

If that seems a bit unfair and asymmetrical, consider this. Your positive response to disappointment benefits you even more than it benefits the person who disappointed you.

A grudge is a heavy thing to carry. You’re faster, more nimble, more purposeful without it.

You won’t always be appreciated for forgiving and moving on to something better. Yet you’ll always gain benefits from it.

Instead of being controlled by your disappointment or the person who disappoints you, break free. Transform the experience into positive determination, then move forward and do great things.
