"Right Now" Presentation Troubleshooting Information
Make sure you have the Flash Player version 5
The "Right Now" presentation requires the Macromedia Flash Player version 5. This plug-in is
available free of charge for Windows, Macintosh and Unix platforms
and is already installed on most computers, but some
older computers may not have it or may have an older version.
To make sure you have the current version, here's what to do:
- Click HERE to go to the Macromedia test page. If there is an installation problem with your Flash plugin,
going to this page should help you correct it.
- You should see two boxes on the left side of the page. The lower
box should say Macromedia Flash Player. Move your pointer over the
blue "About" box and notice what numbers it gives you for the version.
It should be a series of 4 numbers, like 5,0,41,0. If the first number is
NOT "5", you have an older version of the Flash plug-in and you'll need to
upgrade to be able to view the "Right Now" presentation.
- To download and install the current version of the Flash plug-in, click on
the "DOWNLOADS" button at the top of the Macromedia test page.

Give your browser enough memory
The "Right Now" presentation contains several large photographs and because of that
it requires a fairly large amount of space in your computer's memory. If you
just see a black screen after clicking on the link, then it could be that your browser is
running low on memory. Try quitting your browser (Internet Explorer or
Netscape) and other programs that you have running.
Then re-start your browser and try viewing the "Right Now" presentation again.
If you are on a corporate network (LAN)
If you are accessing the Internet through your company's LAN, you may be
behind a firewall which could be set up to prevent the downloading of large
files such as the "Right Now" presentation. If this is a possibility, contact your
network administrator and tell him/her that you're having trouble viewing a Flash
("swf") file that is approximately 600K bytes in size.
If you are on a slow dial-up connection
The "Right Now" presentation is approximately 600K bytes in size. On a 28.8 or
slower dial-up connection, it may take 30 seconds or more to begin running.
