The Daily Motivator message for Extra effort Often you can get by with doing just the bare minimum. But if you stop there, you’re passing up an opportunity. A little extra effort adds much value for not much cost. It extends what you’re able to obtain from the momentum you’ve already established. Don’t abandon that momentum the instant you’ve finished the task. Consider how a bit of extra effort could make your work stand out. Though the extra effort goes in last, it’s likely what other people will notice first. And that first impression has the power to cast a positive light on all the work you’ve done. After an hour and a half mowing and trimming the yard, spend another ten minutes spreading a little mulch on the flower bed. If you’ve worked for a week to prepare a report, put some time into designing a creative cover page. Do the work and do it well, then do a little more. Though it’s not much trouble, it might just make a big difference. © 2026 Ralph S. Marston, Jr.From The Daily Motivator website at http://greatday.com/motivate/261029.html |
