Dignity does not consist in possessing honors, but in deserving them.

Loose ends

by Ralph Marston

Not every situation can be resolved quickly, or at all. Some things you have to live with.

When you cannot find a way to solve the problem, find a way to accept it. That frees you to focus your time, energy, and resources on all the other good things you can do.

Certainly it’s troubling when your expectations cannot be met. Keep in mind, though, that you’re allowed to change those expectations.

There’s no need to continue punishing yourself for a situation that’s beyond your control. Let it be, and get on with making a positive difference where you’re able.

Occasionally it’s necessary to leave a few loose ends. That enables you to remain highly diligent with everything else.

Focus your awareness and energy where you can create useful results. There are too many good possibilities to let them be overshadowed by a few impossibilities.
