Free ride

If it takes no effort, it has no value. This has always been true and will continue to be, technological wizardry notwithstanding.

You simply cannot get something for nothing. To imagine otherwise is to slip into delusion.

Anyone who persists in that delusion quickly finds himself needing to cause great harm to others, and consequently to his own soul. Dreams and specific goals empower, but wishful thinking is toxic.

You are beautiful, unique, and highly capable. Embrace that capability by running quickly away from any suggestion that you can obtain fulfillment without contributing to it.

A free ride will never take you where you want to go. Do the work, pay for the ticket, and the destination will bring richness to your life precisely because you’ve earned it.

Insist on and receive genuine value. Do so by being eager to put forth your own value in exchange.
