Bask in reality

by Ralph Marston

You can’t deny reality with any degree of enduring success. Choose instead to bask in it.

The situation is what it currently is. Rather than forcing your thoughts to oppose it, focus on identifying its values.

Don’t let your discomfort, frustration, or annoyance blind you to potential benefits. Discover what happens when you stop fighting reality, and look at how you can embrace it.

It’s naive to pretend that everything is great, and there’s no need to do that. Instead, take a step back and see if you can recognize some positive potential.

Rather than being resentful, seek to be resourceful. Instead of feeling offended, activate your power to expand on what’s good, what’s right, what’s valuable and what’s possible.

There’s nothing to gain by making a difficult situation more difficult. Take a smart, alternate approach, and do the work to bend things in a more favorable direction.
