A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle.

It’s not fair

by Ralph Marston

No particular part of reality affects every individual equally. To put it more succinctly, life is not fair.

Efforts to impose fairness on reality only end up increasing the overall level of unfairness. Often this happens, despite the best intentions, in ways that were never anticipated.

The world is filled with lots of different people, all with unique perspectives. No adjustment can change that without destroying the value and beauty of individual experience.

As a result, everything that happens, happens differently for every person. Yet within that fundamental, irrevocable unfairness are countless opportunities to live with richness and fulfillment.

Every person has disadvantages in certain dimensions and advantages in other dimensions. Rather than cursing the unfairness of reality, find and make the most of your own unique place in that reality.

The very unfairness of life is what enables you to be the special person you are. Make it your business to thrive within that situation, and you’ll discover plenty of great ways to do so.
