Promise yourself

by Ralph Marston

What promise can you make to yourself today? What promise will you make to yourself, and keep?

You have made, and will continue to make, all sorts of commitments to others. For those commitments to have value, you must also be committed to yourself.

Being committed to yourself is not selfish. It is by making the most of yourself that your’e able to be of service to others.

There are things you can do, priorities you can set, that strengthen and improve your value to yourself and to all of life. Today, focus on your options for doing so, and do the work to follow through.

However far you’ve already come, there is always some new and fulfilling ground to cover. Choose a meaningful, challenging path to personal improvement, and commit to making your way along it.

Make yourself a promise. Offer to yourself and your whole world the gift of your own unique achievements.
