Potential for goodness

The realities of life can be harsh and unforgiving. Even so, you can navigate those realities in a way that produces richness and fulfillment.

Keep truth in your thoughts, peace in your heart, and goodness in your spirit. Put energy not into lamenting the difficulties, but into fulfilling the best possibilities.

Seek to remain involved in the world while actively protecting your values from being corrupted by its detrimental aspects. Shield yourself from what is demoralizing by initiating what is good, encouraging, productive, and generous.

Your perspective plays a key role in the quality of your experience, in what results from your actions. Choose a perspective that centers on what you value most.

Give time, awareness, and action to what’s true, to what uplifts, to what encourages, to what works, to what endures. Rather than fighting directly against negativity, do all you can to crowd it out of your world.

Recognize the potential for goodness that always exists. Live in ways that continue bringing that goodness to life.
