The Daily Motivator message for Productive boredom View boredom not as a problem to be solved, but as a resource to be utilized. Rather than seeking to run away from boredom, discover all you can learn from it and do with it. There are plenty of experiences much worse than boredom, many of them ironically the result of attempts to escape boredom. These include gorging on factory-produced junk food or scrolling endlessly through internet slop. Instead of something to fear and avoid, boredom gives you the opportunity to exist in a highly creative and authentic state. When you’re not surrounded by stimulation, you can connect more deeply to your thoughts, feelings, and spirit. Rather than being instructed what to think or how to feel, you can discover how you truly think, what you actually feel. Then you can devise creative ways to act on who you are and what you care about. Times of boredom are rich with potential, yet they also challenge you to acknowledge and contemplate what is true. Though many of those truths can be difficult, it’s valuable to have the time and space to work through them. As a genuine, caring, intelligent and observant person, you have everything necessary for productive boredom. When the opportunity comes, lean in and make the most of it. © 2026 Ralph S.
