Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them.

Beyond yourself

by Ralph Marston

What you keep for yourself has limited value. What you share can spread its beneficial light far and wide.

When you’re only concerned with what’s in it for you, there never will be much in it. Zoom out, widen your awareness and your consideration, and experience the fullness of life’s abundance.

One of the worst things you can do for yourself is to be selfish. Whatever you withhold from life quickly grows stale and useless.

Make the very most of your existence by expanding your focus far beyond your own existence. Your own experience grows much bigger when you value, appreciate, and contribute to what’s bigger than you.

Your best opportunities are those that involve meaningful connections with others. Your abilities and resources gain significant power when you interact with the abilities and resources of those around you.

Think for yourself, understand yourself, work to improve yourself and the way you live. And greatly magnify the goodness in your life by spreading it far beyond yourself.
