The goodness that is

by Ralph Marston

Most of your moments can be peaceful and whole when your mind allows them to be. Match your thoughts to the reality of your experience, and the experience is likely to improve.

All too often, what you imagine ends up being much more troubling than what actually is. Let true awareness inform your thinking, and many of the troubles dissolve into nothing.

It’s useful and powerful to imagine. But be careful that your imagination does not diminish the actual goodness of your reality.

Make it your intention to live each experience according to how it unfolds, rather than how you expected or hoped or feared. See every situation for what it is without projecting it too far into the future.

Anticipate what’s probable, as well as a bit of what’s possible. Yet don’t let your anticipation devolve into anxiety or delusion.

See the real beauty and potential that surrounds you most of the time. Enjoy and benefit from the peace and power of the goodness that is.
