Missing out

by Ralph Marston

It’s okay to miss out. In fact it’s more than okay.

In order to do anything meaningful, you have to miss out on other things. If you attempt to be involved in everything you end up with no focus or connection to anything.

Choose intentionally how to invest the irreplaceable moments of your life. Seize upon opportunities to involve yourself deeply, and let go of the temptation to spread yourself too thin.

Dispense with any concerns you have about missing out. Instead, focus your energy on improving the quality and purposefulness of what you’re actually doing.

You’re always missing out on many things. The key is to make whatever you are doing even better than anything else you could be doing.

Fill your days with people, activities, thoughts and feelings that give true richness to life. What matters is the fulfillment of making a meaningful difference, not whether this path or some other one gets you there.
