Negative pattern

by Ralph Marston

It’s not good to get in a negative pattern. What’s even worse is to stay there.

Just because unfortunate things have happened, doesn’t give you a reason to be pessimistic. The only way for the past to continue into the future is for you to allow it.

By all means notice what’s gone wrong. But instead of obsessing over it, instead of considering it a disaster, look for fresh opportunity.

Challenge yourself to identify specific positive steps that will bring your world to a better place. Figure out how you can draw upon all the things that are going right so you can respond to whatever has gone wrong.

Make the choice to keep negativity at bay while moving your dreams, values, and priorities to the forefront. Again and again, commit yourself to live in the service of what you know is good, refusing to be pulled down by whatever goes wrong.

The moment you realize you’re in a negative pattern, you can already be heading out of it. Follow through on that realization with positive, meaningful action and quickly get yourself into a much improved pattern.
