Time to get it done

by Ralph Marston

Don’t endlessly talk about it. Stand up, step forward, and do it.

Talk is cheap, predictable, tiresome. Action makes good things happen, brings value and excellence to life.

Yes, planning, discussion, and coordination are necessary. Just be careful not to permanently substitute all that talking for action.

Once you’ve made the commitment and worked out your strategy, there’s no reason to spend more energy on discussion. Put that energy into effective, directed effort.

You have no need for big, impressive announcements. Show what you can do by actually performing the work.

There quickly comes a moment when you’ve talked enough. That’s the time to begin getting it done.
