Expand the goodness

It is a burden to continue holding up your corner of the world, day after day, yet you know you must do so. Too many people have sacrificed too much for too long for you to let it begin to crumble.

Honor, preserve, and expand upon all the goodness that has been gained from life. This is about a whole lot more than just you.

Go ahead and resent the obligation if that’s how you feel. But whether you resent it or not, follow through and fulfill it.

Better yet, appreciate the privilege that has been afforded you. Rise up, eager to fulfill the responsibility of your own existence.

See that in the work of living well and true, you experience deep purpose. As burdensome as it may feel at times, it also feels connected to the past, to the future, to all that is.

Give your best, for that is what makes life the best it can be for you, for everyone. Your task is demanding, and meaningful, and that’s a magnificent thing.
