Serious business

Life can be filled with beauty, cheerfulness, goodness, and abundance. At the same time it is also, always, serious business.

Direct your attention and make your choices accordingly. In your language, in your priorities, in your intentions, reinforce the seriousness of your purpose.

Joy is a wonderful thing, yet it cannot exist in a vacuum. What enables life to be truly fun and enjoyable is your deeper commitment to serious purpose.

If you never take yourself seriously, each activity is empty and devoid of meaning. Then, no matter how fun and exciting anything appears on the outside, it gains you nothing on the inside.

Being serious is not a matter of acting somber or dispassionate. On the contrary, it means living a life that is whole and intentional, where genuine goodness finds a haven in which to grow, to thrive.

Life is filled with so much potential. Take it seriously, and live it joyously.
