Positive turning point

by Ralph Marston

Once the setback has happened, it has happened. Refuse to obsess over it, because that obsession will accomplish nothing useful.

Focus instead on what you can do now to recover. Learn from what happened and make strategic use of that knowledge.

When the setback occurred it was a negative thing. Now that it’s happened, your job is to transform it into a positive turning point.

Do that by narrowing in on what matters most to you, on your vision for life going forward. Become more determined than ever to live with purpose, passion, and effectiveness.

Imagine it’s a year from now, and looking back on the setback you can be thankful for it. Then continue to ask yourself what you can do to make that scenario real.

A setback feels bad, yet you have the power to transform the energy of that feeling into highly productive effort. Take that opportunity, and recover to the point that your life is much better than it ever was before.
