There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Genuine kindness

by Ralph Marston

The most profound way to benefit from kindness is to offer it to others. Being truly kind to yourself comes from being kind to someone else.

Many will appreciate it, yet some people won’t, and don’t even appear to deserve your kindness. Nonetheless, you deserve the experience of giving it.

Some people will never repay your kindness. But that’s okay, because you’ve already been richly rewarded.

If you withhold your kindness as some sort of punishment, you’re the one who ends up getting punished. Don’t let yourself make that mistake.

Being kind doesn’t mean letting anyone take advantage of you. That’s dishonesty and coercion, not kindness, and doesn’t help either party.

Genuine kindness, on the other hand, brings benefit to all who engage in it. Give kindness, and give your best.
